My refrigerator stopped working. Why am I responsible for the repair or replacement?

Some homes we manage come with a refrigerator, some do not provide a refrigerator.

If your home came with a refrigerator, it might be a refrigerator that the Landlord will repair or replace if necessary, or it could be a courtesy refrigerator that the Landlord will not repair or replace. In other words, if you have a courtesy refrigerator and it needs repair or replacement, it will be your responsibility.

Check your lease agreement or ask your property manager to help you find which is your particular case. Typically a courtesy refrigerator or courtesy appliance will have the following clause in the lease:

“The refrigerator is provided as a courtesy for residents to use, but no repairs will be provided on the refrigerator.”
